Chugach Peaks focuses on creating unique images of Alaskan weddings using the latest digital cameras. We have grown into a small team of photographers who strive to create interesting and original photos in a friendly and unobtrusive manner. We are also open to other photographic projects so feel free to call or e-mail us to discuss your ideas.

Photographer Joe Connolly (Click Here to view portfolio highlights) has captured the wedding memories of hundreds of couples over the years. He has photographed weddings all over the United States, Canada and Europe. Originally from Michigan, Joe moved to Anchorage to pursue his passion for the outdoors and photography. If you don't see him behind the camera, you might find him on his mountain bike, backcountry skiing, flying cessnas, or hiking along one of the area's trails. He has an energy around him that is relaxing and fun, and you can see it in the way his couples are truly themselves in front of his camera. He learned his craft through some of the best wedding photographers in Michigan and combined the best of what he saw from them with creativity of his own to fashion a very unique style. You can be sure that each wedding he shoots is as unique as the couples themselves. Joe’s clients are consistently impressed with his work and the amount of word-of-mouth referrals that he gets is a testament to that. See the Testimonials page for comments recent clients have made about Joe. Also see the Photo Gallery to see a handful of the recent weddings Joe has photographed.

Photographer Dan Anderson (Click Here to view portfolio highlights) is a lifelong Alaskan who watched the state grow up through the lens of a camera. Dan became interested in photography at an early age and began pursuing it further while attending Chugiak High School. He has progressively moved up through the ranks as one of the most in-demand photographers in the area. He describes his style as "Modern Progressive" and has studied lighting techniques with some of the most renowned lighting masters of the world. Joe met Dan shortly after moving to Alaska and their collaborative efforts on a number of projects transpired into a natural friendship that eventually led to Dan joining the Chugach Peaks team of photographers. When not shooting, Dan enjoys spending time with his two daughters and wife, four wheeling, snow machining, and working on his classic 1965 Ford Mustang.

Photographer Philip Casey (Click Here to view portfolio website) spent his childhood years in South Carolina where he couldn't put down his mom's polaroid camera. After outgrowing that, his dad passed on one of the classic Canon cameras of the film days. His natural curiosity for photography and art led him to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where his talents continued to grow. Philip was constantly sought out by friends and family to photograph and videotape weddings and events and has now turned it into a career. Philip and Joe met for the first time at a wedding they were both working at and began working together more and more often. Philip is an extremely laid back guy who can go with the flow of any situation and describes his photography outlook like this; "I just want to capture everything. The most simple wedding details to the most profound moments. The reason I dedicate so much of my photography talent to weddings is because I  get such a thrill from seeing two people so Intimate and in Love." When Philip is not shooting, he enjoys 4-wheeling, playing the guitar, and spending time with good friends and family.

Photographer Karen Hilton (Click Here to view wedding photo highlights) ... (Click Here to view Karen's portfolio website ) is a true adventurer and people-lover at heart. Splitting her time between photography and as a professional mountain guide, Karen's photography has taken her around the globe to far off places like India, Nepal, Patagonia, Antarctica, and remote corners of Alaska. Always wearing her big smile and laugh, Karen really knows how to keep things light and fun on the big day. Besides all the real-world experience, Karen also graduated from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Karen notices a lot of the little details that often go overlooked - whether it's a small gift given to the bride by a grandmother, or just catching someone's laugh at the perfect moment.

Photographer Josh Martinez (Click Here to view Josh's Portfolio Website) is originally from California. His goal is to bring a new and fresh look to the Alaska wedding scene. According to Josh, "My style could be summarized as contemporary, elegant, and edgy. A lot of shooters tend to look at other wedding photographers work for inspiration. I avoid that altogether, and browse fashion, marketing, and advertising photography for my inspirations." Josh re-invents himself at each wedding. He finds that being an artist while making a living is exciting. He's always on the lookout for the non-standard photo locations and capturing humor through photography.

Photographer Heather Thamm (Portfolio site under construction) was born and raised in northern Idaho amongst a family full of artists. She spent her toddler years pounding on the door of her mother's closet darkroom, and received her first lessons in composition from her father, a portrait painter. More interested in sports than art, Heather claims she accidentally fell in love with photography after getting hired as a golf course photographer in high school. "I became obsessed with how the camera works and signed up for every photography class I could throughout college." After years of shooting film she eventually attended the Rocky Mountain School of Photography where she submerged herself in the digital world. Today Heather lives in anchorage and enjoys a variety of photographic interests including adventure sports, people, and landscapes. Alaskan weddings have proven to be the ultimate photographic experience for Heather. "I love working with people, especially surrounded by all of the amazing landscapes in Alaska."
