Now, let me preface this with it is very difficult to choose our top 10 wedding venues in Alaska. There are so many great options around the entire state. So, we are choosing these based on uniqueness, location, and hospitality. We’re also choosing our favorite venues based on the type of wedding venue. For example, there are a ton of wonderful barn-like venues in the Matsu-Valley, but we’ll only choose one of them for this post.

These venues will also vary in the type we choose. There will be some standard venues like Alaskan lodges, but may some exciting venues like eloping in a meadow or on a glacier!

I hope you’re as excited as we are! Let’s discover our favorite wedding venues in Alaska!

Starting with our honorable mentions because there really are more than 10 incredible venues in this state.

Here’s a quick list of great locations before we step into our top 10. We’ve linked each one of these!

Okay… drum roll… Now for the TOP 10! In no particular order – except for number one!

10. Talkeetna Alaska Lodge, Talkeetna, Alaska

– This lodge has a big deck on the backside of the building. You can get married here with stunning views of Denali in the background. There is also a nice ballroom that has easy access to the deck and the property grounds. Here’s a link to the lodge’s website: Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge

9. Skater’s Cabin, Juneau, Alaska

– Skater’s Cabin is not an actual venue but a picnic site on the shores of Mendenhall Lake, near the Mendenhall Glacier. You do need a permit if you’re going to have a larger ceremony here, and this can be done through the local forest service.

– Here’s an incredible blog one of our former clients wrote about the micro-wedding in Juneau: “We Planned A Wedding in Juneau Alaska in 6 Months, Here’s How We Did It”

8. Hatcher Pass, Alaska

– Hatcher Pass is one of the most easily accessible places to be in and among the mountains. You can elope or have a micro-wedding here, or you can simply take photos here and commute to one of the many wedding venues in the Palmer or Wasilla areas.

– A quick side note… If you need a larger venue but love the views of Hatcher Pass, the Government Peak Chalet is a great option because it is so close to the state park.

7. Alaska Mountain Rugby Grounds, Anchorage, Alaska

– This is not as well-known of a venue because they don’t publicize it as much. Their main priority is being a rugby venue; however, it is a beautiful building for a wedding! Sweeping views of Anchorage, wide open space for the reception, and big rooms for your wedding party to get ready. It’s quite wonderful! Here’s how you can contact them: Contact the Rugby Grounds Here

6. Arctic Valley Ski Area, Anchorage, Alaska

– The Arctic Valley Ski Area is home to the Alpenglow Ski Chalet which is a wonderfully hidden Alaskan wedding venue. It’s tucked into the mountains at a thousand feet of elevation. It’s a 25-minute drive to downtown Anchorage, so it’s in a great location. We totally recommend paying for the chairlift for you, your wedding party, and your guests. It’s a great way to capture those mountain images but not have to hike for hours and hours.

5. AK Diamond J Ranch, Homer, Alaska

– This wedding venue in Homer, Alaska has 25 acres of ranch property, 2 barns, and a house remodeled for weddings. But, the absolute best thing about this venue, besides its incredible views, is the family that runs it. They truly care about making your wedding day the best ever, even their kids participate!

4. Raven Glacier Lodge, Girdwood, Alaska

– One of the most unique wedding venues in Alaska is Raven Glacier Lodge. It’s a fairytale that has truly come to life. Although dinner runs a little late, Kathy and her team make the most incredible meal for your wedding dinner! The food, the lights, the trees, the creek – all of this makes for one majestic wedding venue!

3. The Inn at Tern Lake, Moose Pass, Alaska

– This is definitely a favorite Alaskan wedding venue of ours. The Inn at Tern Lake is located in the Moose Pass Valley. Mountains tower around the inn on both sides! It’s close to Tern Lake and Kenai Lake, both are beautiful locations for wedding photos! Plus, Teal and her family are amazing and make the best halibut!

2. Majestic Valley Lodge, Matanuska, Alaska

– There are not many wedding venues in Alaska that can beat the views of Majestic Valley Lodge! This place is truly spectacular. In August, when the fireweed is blooming – it’s out of this world!

1.DKnik Glacier, Alaska

– Now, we could talk about wedding venues in Alaska if we didn’t talk about getting married on a glacier. Yes, you can do this as an elopement, but you can also bring a small group of family and friends too! We’ve photographed ceremonies on countless glaciers. The Knik Glacier is one of our favorites, but there are tons of glaciers to get married on in Alaska. Here are some of our favorites: Colony Glacier, Spencer Glacier, Lake George Glacier, Byron Glacier, Ruth Glacier, 20 Mile Glacier, Herbert Glacier, and the Mendenhall Glacier.
